Notice is hereby given that the Warren City Civil Service Commission will give a written, promotional, competitive examination for the position of Police Lieutenant in the city of Warren’s Police Department. The examination will be given on Tuesday, January 31, 2024, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Avenue Warren, Ohio 44483.
All eligible Police Sergeants must have served in the rank of Sergeant on the Warren Police Department for at least two (2) years from the date of original appointment to the date of such promotional examination.
The passing grade for this written examination has been established at 70% (seventy percent).
Assessment portion of the examination to be conducted pursuant to the rules and regulations of the Civil Service Commission adopted prior to the examination.
Assessment portion of the exam will be scheduled at a date to be announced.
No credit for seniority, experience, efficiency or any other reason shall be added to the applicant’s written examination grade unless the applicant achieves at least the minimum passing grade of seventy percent (70%) without counting that extra credit.
Attached to this notice is a list of the suggested reference materials that have been approved by the Warren Civil Service Commission for this examination. This list may be subject to deletions, but no additions. Also attached to this notice is an application form for said examination.

All Federal, State and Local pandemic requirements and guidelines will be observed at all testing and interview sites, stations and locations used on behalf of the City of Warren, Ohio, Civil Service Commission.
